After a monthlong campaign where the community was invited to submit its picks for favorite Newtown businesses in four different categories, The Chamber of Commerce of Newtown and The Rotary Club of Newtown announce the nominees for the 2015 Business of the Year award.

New Business: Bottle Stop, Green Crystal Massage, and Barnwood Grill.

Longevity: Bagel Delight, Taunton Press, and Newtown Savings Bank.

Philanthropy: Queen Street Gifts, TR Paul, and NYA Sports & Fitness

Overall Achievement: Masonicare at Newtown, TR Paul, and Newtown Savings Bank

Community members are invited to vote for the business they feel is most deserving of each honor and has consistently displayed excellence in the way it serves its customers and supports Newtown. Voting remains open through March 23.

A link to vote is posted on the Newtown Chamber website, newtown-ct.com. Please note that each visitor can only vote once.

While all nominees will be given honorable mention, the top three nominees in each category will be highlighted at the awards dinner and ceremony on March 23 at Newtown Country Club, 1 Country Club Road. One company in each category will be honored as Business of the Year.

The event will run from 6 to 8 pm, and is open to the public, but reservations are required. Tickets are $27 and include dinner and cash bar.
