The Newtown Historical Society hosted a free open house, from noon to 4 pm, at the Matthew Curtiss House on March 17.

Throughout the afternoon, docents gave tours of the building, which was constructed in 1750 and is home to many antiques.

Homemade Irish soda bread was served to guests in honor of St Patrick’s Day.

The next Newtown Historical Society open house is scheduled for April 28, from noon to 4 pm, and will include a calligraphy workshop.
