All town fields remain closed, according to a reminder from Newtown Parks & Rec, which made the announcement via email Friday, March 27.

Treadwell and Tilson artificial fields remain closed as well, due to snow cover and frozen sub-surface conditions.

“Due to the potential for head impact injuries these fields will remain closed until at least Monday March 30, 2015,” the note continued. “These fields will be monitored early next week and opened as soon as safe playing conditions exist.”
