New Location For Next Community Center Info Session

Organizers announced that the next Newtown Community Center Phase I Information Session will be held at an alternate venue on Tuesday, March 31.

Originally scheduled to take place at Newtown Senior Center, the session will be in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

Andy Clure, a member of the Community Center Advisory Committee, said the decision to move was made after the committee held a meeting late in the week.

"We decided to move to Edmond Town Hall because it will allow more people to participate," Mr Clure told The Newtown Bee on March 28.

Town officials will share information on the $15 million GE Foundation grant to the town for a community center, explain the history of the project, and present possible concepts for a new community center.

Additional info sessions have also been scheduled for Thursdays, April 2 and 9, beginning at 7 pm, in the Lecture Hall at Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road.
