Ryan Fetchick, 19, of Sandy Hook died unexpectedly at his home on the morning of April 2, due to a tragic accident while working on his truck.

Mr Fetchick graduated from Newtown High School in 2016, worked at Route 25 Power Sports, and had plans to go to United Technical Institute to become a diesel mechanic.

A full-throttle personality, Mr Fetchick was always eager to lend a helping hand - whether it be driving his friends to driver's education classes, helping a buddy fix a vehicle, or cracking everyone up with a well-timed fart joke.

Mr Fetchick was on wheels from a young age. He progressed from rigging up plywood ramps for his bicycle to racing motocross. While his spelling skills were questionable at best, his ability to take anything apart and put it back together better than the original was unparalleled.

His mother, Eileen Fetchick; father, Drew Fetchick; sister, Kristen Fetchick; dog; and numerous friends and extended family survive him and miss him dearly. In addition, he leaves behind extensive motocross trophies, an impressive collection of dirty socks, and a reputation for being an extraordinary young man.

Services for Mr Fetchick will be conducted Sunday, April 9, at 2 pm, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, Newtown. All are welcome and encouraged to bring trucks, dirt bikes, and a happy heart.

The Fetchicks would like to extend a special thanks to the Ericksons for being a second family to Mr Fetchick.

Memorial donations may be made to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps at newtown-ambulance.org; or Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue at sandyhookfire.com.
