Residents living in and around Newtown can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other chronic, serious conditions with screenings by Life Line Screening on Thursday, April 14, at Edmond Town Hall.lifelinescreening.com for additional information.

Available screenings include:

*Carotid Artery (Plaque) Screening, which checks the level of plaque buildup in arteries, related to risk for heart disease, stroke and overall vascular health;

*HDL and LDL Cholesterol levels;

*Diabetes risk;

*Osteoporosis Risk Assessment, which screens for bone mass density as a risk for possible osteoporosis; and

*Kidney and thyroid function, and more

Edmond Town Hall, at 45 Main Street, is handicapped accessible. Parking is plentiful, and available behind the buildilng.

Registration is required.

Packages start at $149, and consultants can work with those seeking screenings to create a package that is right for each attendees based on their age and risk factors. LifeLine Screening accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Screening results are provided within 21 days. Participants with abnormal results are directed to take their report(s) to their physician.

Tests are for screening purposes only; LifeLine tests cannot detect all forms of stroke.
