Newtown’s Earth Day Festival is being planned for Saturday, April 27, 10 am to 4 pm, at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

Among the many exhibits there will be several booths sponsored by Newtown Lions Club, including one focused on this year’s Lose The Litter effort.

Readers are invited to sign up to clean roads. The Lions Club is dedicated to the idea of losing the litter along Newtown’s roadsides.

Volunteers can request a specific road they’d like to clean up, or take a random assignment. The Lions will provide bags.

For additional information contact Gordon Williams at 203-405-6392.

The Lions Club’s Lose The Litter booth will also have tree saplings for those who would like them. Offerings including white oak, red oak, sugar maple, black walnut, and crab apple.
