Spring Plant Classes Scheduled At IAIS
WASHINGTON â The Institute for American Indian Studies has scheduled two plant classes for the weekend of May 6-7.
A class in learning about and making natural plant remedies from spring botanicals for use in maximizing wellness in natural ways will be presented on Saturday, May 6. E. Barrie Kavasch, the author of American Indian Healing Arts, will lead the class from 1 to 3:30 pm.
Participants will need to bring several small jars with lids to this âkitchen workshopâ in order to take home samples of the demonstrated remedies prepared by Ms Kavasch.
Fee for the class is $30, and advance reservations required as space is limited. Connecticut educators may earn 0.2 CEUs.
A class on the monthly âHerbaria Exhibit Selectionâ will be held at noon on Sunday, May 7. The class will feature the âCanada Mayflower,â a plant well known for its role in some amazing cures. Ms Kavasch will also lead the in-depth discussion of this amazing plant.
Fee for this class is $12, and reservations required. The class will run from noon to 1:30 pm.
