Elizabeth Pekera, 93, of Newtown, died April 23, at the Masonicare at Newtown. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Pekera. She was born in Derby, December 24, 1919, daughter of Isabelle (Baker) and Charles Conaty.

She was an employee at Kreiger in Shelton in the hardware and women’s apparel departments until her retirement.

Mrs Pekera was a devoted Catholic and parishioner at St Margaret Mary’s Church in Shelton.

She was the loving mother of Frank C. Pekera; and loving grandmother of five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her special godson and nephew, Daniel Pekera, and several other nieces and nephews also survive Mrs Pekera. A daughter, Elaine Forti, predeceased her.

Friends are invited to her memorial Mass Friday, April 26, at 10 am, at St Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Avenue, Shelton. Her burial will be private.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St Margaret Mary Church.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, is entrusted with her arrangements.
