Connecticut Choral Society To Join ‘Bernstein At 100’ Celebration With Spring Concert

Trinity Episcopal Church will host “Bernstein At 100,” the spring concert of Connecticut Choral Society, on Saturday, May 4. A performance of uplifting Broadway music to celebrate the musical genius of Leonard Bernstein will begin at 7 pm.

The concert will also be performed Sunday, May 5, at 3 pm, at North Congregational Church in Woodbury.

The Connecticut Choral Society is honored to join the ranks of artists and academics presenting “Leonard Bernstein at 100,” a two-year global celebration of the 100th birthday of the composer, conductor, educator, musician, cultural ambassador, and humanitarian.

The program for May 4 will include “The Best of All Possible Worlds” and “Life Is Happiness Indeed,” both from Candide and both Robert Page arrangements; “Wonderful Town” (Choral Highlights), John Purifoy arrangement; “West Side Story” (Choral Suite), Mac Huff arrangement; “Take Care of This House, from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue; and “Make Our Garden Grow,” also from Candide, Page arrangement.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 senior citizens or youth, and $10 for veterans. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Advance ticket purchases can be done at ctchoralsociety.org.
