The Cloud refers to the sharing of data and programs over the Internet. Some common examples of using the Cloud are sharing files using Drop Box or One Drive, backing up important data using Carbonite, keeping track of a schedule using Google Calendar, using online versions of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, using Google Docs to create and collaborate on documents, using online versions of popular programs such as Quickbooks, using Amazon to access a music library from anywhere, and so on. Concepts and usage of the Cloud will be demonstrated with a Windows PC, with a tablet, and with a Chromebook. Savor the Flavor of Providence, R.I. After arriving the day will begin at Scalio's Bakery, well-known for its fine bread and pastries. A tour and demonstration along with a sampling of pastry and coffee or tea will be offered. The day will continue on to Trattoria Zooma, a Southern Italian kitchen featuring handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza. PowerPoint is the most commonly used presentation program available, both in school and for business. PowerPoint allows users to create dynamic presentations that can include text, lists, tables, charts, graphics, transitions, and animations. This hands-on workshop will show how to get the most out of PowerPoint using all of the features just mentioned.
