To The Editor:

Once again, it is time to award a new five-year contract for student transportation. Let's look at the dollars and cents.

As with any student transportation company, the district sends payment to corporate headquarters far away. With the restoration of an owner/operator system, the district sends payment to a Newtown address, and that has a positive effect on the local economy.

If you agree with this line of thought, please contact the Newtown Board of Education and request that a new owner/operator system be put on their agenda for consideration.
