Federico Will Be Guest At Next SCAN Meeting

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will welcome the artist Frank Federico for a return to SCAN to paint a cityscape during the art organization’s next meeting.

Mr Federico’s program, which will focus on using oil for cityscapes, will take place on Wednesday, May 25, at 1:30 pm. It will be in the lower meeting room at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).

Non-members are invited to attend. Admission is free.

Frank Federico began his career as a boy in New Orleans. He painted vibrant landscapes of the bayou and sketched jazz musicians who played the clubs along Bourbon Street. Jazz played a significant influence on his art.

Today at home in Goshen, Mr Federico is celebrated as both a master artist and teacher. He has won numerous awards in a variety of media and leads art workshops both locally and internationally. His work has been featured in many publications, including a six-page article in the March 2005 issue of American Artist magazine.

Mr Federico has exhibited in many one-man and group shows, including international exhibitions in Tokyo and Stockholm. Most recently he was the featured artist at River Glen Fine Arts Gallery in Sandy Hook.

Mr Federico holds elected/signature artist membership in Allied Artists of America, Pastel Society of America, Degas Pastel Society, National Watercolor Society and Rockport Art Association.
