SCORE Seminar On Franchises

BRIDGEPORT — SCORE Greater Bridgeport is presenting a small business seminar, “How to Choose and Buy the Right Franchise,” Thursday evening, June 22, on the campus of the University of Bridgeport.

The workshop, sponsored by the Trefz Center for Venture Management and Entrepreneurial Studies, will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm in the Tower room at the Arnold Bernhard Center. Registration will begin at 6:30 pm. The cost is $10 per person.

This evening workshop is designed to provide small business entrepreneurs with guidance for starting a franchise. The workshop leader will be Keld Alstrup, former vice president of Volvo corporation, and currently president, FranNet of New York and Connecticut. FranNet is the country’s largest franchise consulting group. Among the topics to be discussed are how to select and evaluate a franchise, options for getting financed, and locating franchise attorneys and other professional advisors.
