Brestovansky Repeats For SWC Championship Medalist Honors As Golf Teams Tee Off In Postseason

Newtown High School golfer David Brestovansky took home South-West Conference championship medalist honors as the tournament's top golfer for the second year in a row. Brestovansky shot a 76 to lead Newtown to a fourth-place team finish at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury on May 28. Newtown's other golfers are Adam Kliczewski, Tim Davis, Trevor Hislop, and Jimmy Davies.

The Nighthawks had a team score of 357. Pomperaug of Southbury was first with a score of 342, Immaculate of Danbury came in second with a 350, and New Milford was third, carding a 352.

In girls' golf, Newtown came in second as a team at the conference championship match, held at Shelton's Brownson Country Club on May 28. The Nighthawks shot 419, led by Kendall Reed's fourth-place performance, with a score of 97. The rest of Newtown's golfers are Gigi Marino, Nidhi Mukka, Cailin Wilson, and Abby Watson. Masuk of Monroe came in first with a team score of 398.

David Brestovansky was the SWC's top golfer for the second straight year.
