Ralph Kemp

Ralph Kemp, 89, formerly of Bellows Falls, Vt., died May 27, at the Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. He was born in Blackstone, Mass., July 10, 1923, the son of Annie (O'Neill)  and Ralph Kemp.

He is survived by his loving partner of 17 years, Jane Kondratovich of Bridgeport; his children and spouses Lynn and Alan Helfer of Sandy Hook, Joe and Deb Kemp of Phoenix, Ariz., Chet and Diane Kemp of North Hampton, N.H., Ted and Caren Kemp of Trumbull, Deanna and Winston Merrill of Bellows Falls, Vt., Bill and Patti Kemp of Springfield, Vt., Maryanne and Mike Francis of Hamilton, Ohio, Mike and Mary Kemp of Charlestown, N.H., Tim and Geniva Kemp of Seaside, Calif., Lee Kondratovich and Dawn Mahoney of Easton, Karen and Alan DeSantos of Wallingford, and Lance Kemp of Brattleboro, Vt.; his sister Myra Welch; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. His parents; his wife of 40 years, Nan Kemp; his daughter-in-law Joane Kemp; and grandson Todd predeceased Mr Kemp.

Mr Kemp served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Wasp. He retired after 30 years from North Eastern Culvert.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #37, enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing in Lake Placid, N.Y., and spending his winters in Florida. He was also a sports fan.

There will be a funeral Mass at 10 am, Wednesday, June 5, at St Charles Church, 31 Cherry Hill Street, Bellows Falls, Vt., with burial to follow in the St Charles Cemetery, Westminster, Vt. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #37, Rockingham Street, Bellows Falls, VT 05101 or to the Easton Senior Center, 650 Morehouse Road, Easton CT 06612.

Arrangements are in the care of Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home.
