Members of the Newtown Police Department and staff at the state’s Garner Correctional Institution joined together on Friday, June 7, participating in the Newtown leg of the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. The event demonstrates the runners’ support for the Special Olympics of Connecticut’s Summer Games, which are being held June 7 through 9 at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.
