St Rose Track Teams Cap Off Strong Campaign

The St Rose track and field team wrapped up its 2011 season at the Greater Danbury Track & Field Championship Meet earlier this month. St Rose (5-1 in the regular season) had a strong showing from the girls’ varsity team (grades 7-8), placing second among eight teams.

Individual school records were set by Molly Begg (800 meter, 2:51), Bridget Duero (400, 1:11), and Connor McNerney (800, 3:02). School records were also set in the 4x100 relay (grades 3/4) by the team of Rebecca Racz, Adelaide Meier, Francesca Coppola, and Olivia Cavallero in a time of 1:14.00 and in the 4x200 relay (grades 7/8) by the team of Bridget Duero, Victoria Kirkman, Haley Ryan, and Marina Renzi.

League champions from St Rose included Molly Begg (1600 and 800), Connor McNerney (1600), Bridget Duero (400), and Kayla Ondy (softball throw). Silver medalists included Rebecca Racz (400), Connor McNerney (800), Audrey Sedensky, Madeline Meier, Anna Brubaker, and Isabella Jimenez (4x100 relay), and Haley Ryan, Bridget Duero, Victoria Kirkman, Marina Renzi (4x200 relay). Bronze medalists included Mark Kendziorski (1600), Madeline Meier (1600, 100), Rosie Simms, Rebecca Walsh, Kayla Ondy, and Annika Sun (4x50 relay), Audrey Sedensky (400), Rosie Simms (400), Rebecca Racz (200), Anna Brubaker (200), and Bridget Duero (800).

Others who performed well this season were Anthony Daccache, Christina DeBartolomeo, Andrew Doering, Ryan Gommo, Stephanie Haas, Grace Herrick, Gabriella Jimenez, Caitlyn Keane, Joey LaManna, Angelo LaManna, Patrick McKenzie, Parker McKenzie, Cullen Moore, Claire Neives, Nicholas Prieto, Henry Reichenbach, and Justin Zemo.
