NHS Classes Reunite

Gathering over cocktails and dinner at The Inn at Newtown on Saturday, June 21, were members of Newtown High School graduating classes including 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, and 1962. Many of the guests have known one another since prior to their high school graduations, and the annual reunion reunites residents with friends who no longer live in town. Roughly 50 people from the various classes enjoyed dinner and a happy hour at one of the inn’s banquet rooms.
Longtime friends June Hanna (’59), left, and Martha Rohleder Dayton (’61) spent a few minutes trying to remember exactly when they had first met as girls growing up in town. They reminisced about Ms Hanna’s father, who ran a general store, and she noted that she can count seven generations of her family in town. The two grew up as neighbors on Church Hill Road.
