Crossing The Line

Dan Germain, 46, of Newtown, completed the Health Net Triathlon in Milford on June 9 in 2 hours 40 minutes. He competed in a field of 282 athletes from ten states who swam 1.5 km (0.9 miles), biked 40 km (24 miles) and ran 10 km (6 miles) – the standard Olympic distance. The event was won by Mitch West of Wilton in 2 hours 12 minutes. This is the second year of the event sponsored by Health Net of the Northeast and organized by TriFitness to benefit the American Red Cross mid-Fairfield county chapter.
