Midshipman Andrew Golankiewicz, 18, of Sandy Hook was inducted into the US Naval Academy July 1 in Annapolis, Md. Andrew will swim competitively while at Annapolis.

Morgan Haynes Knees was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2010 semester at Bentley University, Waltham, Mass. Morgan will be a junior at the university in the fall.

Danielle Norris of Sandy Hook, Rachel Fisher, and Adam Schankman were named to the Dean’s List at Providence (R.I.) College for the spring 2010 semester.

Meghan E. Barbour, Kerry A. McDonald of Sandy Hook, Elizabeth D. O’Brien, Daniel R. Rahmlow of Sandy Hook, and Joseph C. Rahtelli of Sandy Hook were named to the Dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Ashley Braun was named to the spring 2010 Dean’s List at Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore, Md. A student must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits to earn Dean’s List status at the university.

Austin Hubbert was named to the spring term 2010 Dean’s List at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford. Choate Rosemary Hall is an independent secondary school enrolling 850 boarding and day students from 41 states and 39 countries.

 Natalie Clarke graduated at Dean College in Franklin, Mass., receiving the associate in arts degree for liberal studies on July 6.

 Victoria Mead of Sandy Hook was named to the 2010 spring semester Dean’s List at Simmons College in Boston. To qualify for dean’s list status at the college, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.

 Sarah S. Holroyd of Sandy Hook received a master of business administration degree from Clark University, Worcester, Mass., on Sunday, May 23.

 Rachel Eastman graduated from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., with a bachelor of science in biochemistry.

Maximilian Baudisch of Sandy Hook was named to the spring semester Dean’s list at Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y., on July 6.

Genevieve Marie Santayana of Sandy Hook was named to the spring 2010 Dean’s List at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a C and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring semester of 2010.

 Jaclyn Goulding earned a bachelor of science degree from Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., for studies completed in May 2010 in the field of movement and sports studies.

 Katherine Condon, a sophomore from Sandy Hook, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2010 semester at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better for the semester and complete at least 12 credits.

 Grace Galie, Class of 2012 at Skidmore College, Saratoga Spring, N.Y., earned honors for the spring semester. To earn honors students must maintain a grade point ratio of 3.4 to 3.669.

 Junior Jocelyn Toll achieved High Honor Roll, sophomore Francis Afriyie of Sandy Hook achieved Honor Roll, junior Robert Carroll of Sandy Hook achieved Honor Roll, and sophomore Valerie Szabo of Sandy Hook achieved Honor Roll for the spring term at The Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor. The Loomis Chaffee School is a boarding and day school of 690 students from 26 states and 20 countries, the school includes boys and girls from grades 9 through 12 and postgraduate.

Samantha Ciaccia, Nicole Haylon, Shannon Seaman, and Michelle Steuer were named to the Dean’s List at Roger Williams University, Bristol, R.I., for the spring 2010 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List that semester.

Sandy Hook resident Candice Alexandria Woods made the spring 2010 Dean’s List for the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J.

Local residents were among the upper school and middle school students who received academic honors for the spring trimester 2010 at Chase Collegiate School, in Waterbury. Faculty Honors is the highest academic honor reserved for students earning a 92 or above; High Honor students have earned an 88 or above; and Honor students have earned an 85 or above. In the upper school, receiving High Honors: seniors Susan Mason of Sandy Hook and John Moller, junior Kevin Dill, sophomore Quincy DeYoung and freshman Taylor Brady; receiving Honors: sophomores Nicole Haghpanah and Elizabeth Grimes of Sandy Hook and freshmen Stefan Dullinger of Sandy Hook and Rajeshri Basu.

In the middle school, eighth grader Adam Harrison and seventh grader Nathaniel Dowd received Faculty Honors. Seventh graders Will Montgomery and Meghan Grimes of Sandy Hook were awarded High Honors; seventh grader Samantha Westberg and Grant Varnum, were awarded Honors. Chase Collegiate School is an academically demanding co-ed day school in the classic independent school tradition for students in grades preK–3 through 12.
