Francis Shanley

Francis Timothy "Tim" Shanley, 70, of St Augustine, Fla., formerly of Bridgeport and Newtown, died July 19, at Bailey Community Hospice, after a long bout with lung cancer, surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 12, 1948, in Bridgeport, and was the son of Francis Joseph Shanley and Margaret (Gillotti) Shanley.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School, Bridgeport, in 1966 and served in the US Army. After his service in the Army, he joined the Connecticut State Troopers and retired after 20 years of service. Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Holly, partnered in the real estate business in Connecticut and Florida.

His daughter, Jennifer Shanley of Shrewsbury, Mass.; three beautiful granddaughters, Madison, Paige, and Jillian; sister, Patricia (Shanley) Decker; brother and sister in-law, Bruce and Mary Lou Reck; sisters-in-law, Pam Reck and Robin (Reck) Burns; and several nieces and nephews survive him.

His loving wife of 46 years, Holly (Reck) Shanley, predeceased him.

Arrangements are being handled by Craig Funeral Home in St Augustine, Fla.

Interment will be at the discretion of the family.
