Barbara Anne (Hamelman) Lynch, 75, of Newtown, died peacefully July 20, at home. She was born September 8, 1942, in Rockville Center, N.Y., and was the youngest of the Hamelman triplets.

Ms Lynch graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, N.Y., in 1960. She worked at The Equitable Life Assurance Society in New York City for the next 20 years. When The Equitable moved from New York City, she was then employed by The New York Racing Association on Long Island for many years.

Upon retirement in 1999, Ms Lynch moved to Newtown to live with her sister, Mary. She quickly adapted to life in Newtown by being active in shopping for F.A.I.T.H. Food Pantry. She was devoted to her large collection of pets and happily served the Newtown Spay and Neuter Association by acting as treasurer.

Mourning her memory are her sisters, Mary Thomas and Frances Underhill; and a large extended family from New York, Vermont, Virginia, Tennessee, Utah, and California, who survive her.

Her parents, George and Frances Hamelman; and her four big brothers, James, George, Bobby, and Paul, predeceased her.

Her Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 30, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, with a reception following to celebrate her life. Burial will be in the Newtown Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial Contributions can be made to either F.A.I.T.H. Food Pantry, PO Box 53, Newtown CT 06470; or to the Spay and Neuter Association of Newtown, PO Box 352, Newtown CT 06470.
