Clarence L.      Ziemann

Clarence L. Ziemann, 86, of 229 Bacon Pond Road, Woodbury, formerly of Newtown and Southbury, died July 29 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Harriett (Everson) Ziemann.

Mr Ziemann was born April 24, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Paul and Emma (Gongol) Ziemannn. Mr Ziemann was educated in Chicago. He spent four years in the Navy where he served as a chief petty officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. Mr Ziemann worked for the Lithcote Corp as executive vice president in Chicago, Altonna, Penn., and Newtown. A resident of Newtown for eight years, he was a real estate broker in Newtown and had an office in Sandy Hook. He was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown. He had resided in Southbury before moving to Woodbury.

Besides his wife of 58 years, he is survived by four sons, David Ziemann of Hawaii, Tim Ziemann of North Carolina, Paul Ziemann of California, and Kurt Ziemann of Newtown; a daughter, Karla Ziemann, of Southbury; a brother, Erwin Ziemann of Florida; a sister, Elaine Gillman of Illinois; four grandchildren, Joseph, Rosie, Gage, and Sean; and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial is private.

The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, Main Street South, was in charge of arrangements.
