Business background:ÃÂ My background is primarily in real estate brokerage and development down in the metro-New York City area, but this is my first dive into the car washing industry.
I've been researching the car washing industry for the better part of a couple years because I'm always looking for other investment opportunities.
When car washes are run the way they should be - and can be - run, it can be very profitable enterprises. We've been open for almost two months, and I have a vision of expanding the brand to other markets.
Business focus:ÃÂ The main services are QuiXpress exterior car washes.
We have a 100-foot tunnel, and within that tunnel we have a conveyor. The customer stays in the car, and they get pulled through the tunnel of equipment. The tunnel includes high pressure guns that the attendants use to soak the car. [The vehicle] goes through a pre-soak foamer, which is the initial soap application. It then goes through a series of cloth machines to wash.
From that, there are applications - clear coat protectant, hot wax - and at the end, we have six high-powered blowers that blow a very high percentage of the water off the car before the customer leaves.
We have 14 self-service vacuums where people can, if they elect, use the vacuums free of charge [with the purchase of a car wash].
Important to know:ÃÂ The feedback we have received from customers is that our customer service is unparalleled. Whenever they come through the business, they are going to be greeted with a smile and a friendly hello.
ÃÂ We offer unlimited monthly memberships to our customers. For a fixed rate, that's charged on their credit card on a recurring basis, they pay one fee; then they can come here and wash their car as many times as they'd like during that month. With the unlimited monthly membership, they're also able to use the vacuums free of charge without having a wash.
