Children from age 4 to those who have completed sixth grade have been participating this week in Vacation Bible School at Grace Family Church.

This year’s theme is “SonWest Roundup,” and even in the rain on August 13, there was plenty of fun and fellowship. The Wild West adventure has included snacks, crafts, skits, and other fun while learning about Jesus.

On Tuesday, relay races — with runners given the additional challenge of balancing or bouncing items while running, as seen above — were held in the church parking lot.

GFC Youth & Childrens Minister Adam Fredericks said 164 children participated in Vacation Bible School on Monday, and another 175 were there on Tuesday.

Camp continues 9 am until 12:30 pm through August 16. Cost is $10 per child, and Pastor Fredericks says children are still welcome to join the fun.

The church is at 174 Mt Pleasant Road. Call 203-270-1005 for additional information.

Grace Family Church’s Vacation Bible School has always been able to offer a light-hearted approach to its lessons. On Tuesday, August 13, Matt Ventresca offered a program in the classrooms. As part of the morning’s program, Mr Ventresca introduced children to Al Davis, a 4-year-old Australian blue-tongue skink.
Even in the rain on Tuesday, children attending Vacation Bible School at Grace Family Church were having fun.
