EMT Course Scheduled

To Begin

A new emergency medical technician (EMT) course begins Thursday, September 7, at 6 pm, at the Newtown ambulance garage on Main Street. Deb Aubin will be the instructor.

The 130-hour class will meet every Monday and Thursday evening from 6 to 10 pm, as well as occasional Saturdays, for 12 weeks.

The cost of the course is $450, and includes the book, a stethoscope, and the cardio-pulmonary resuscitation card.

The course includes clinical time at local hospitals and ride time with Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and prepares students for the state certified practical and written examinations.

Students must be at least 16 years old by the time the course ends in early December. No previous medical experience is required.
