‘Once Upon A Time’ Event Benefits Pediatric Initiatives

DANBURY — The Danbury Hospital Development Fund, Inc is presenting its 15th A Day to Make a Difference pediatric auction Saturday, October 3, at 7 pm. The fairy tale-inspired evening takes place at the Ethan Allen Hotel, 21 Lake Avenue Extension, with proceeds from a silent and live auction to benefit Danbury Hospital’s pediatric programs and services.

“This year’s theme of ‘Once Upon a Time’ celebrates the Department of Pediatrics very own dream come true — the creation of the Danbury Hospital Children’s Health and Wellness Center at 79 Sand Pit Road in Danbury”, said Susan Kania, director of donor relations and stewardship, Danbury Hospital Development Fund.

The event also includes cocktails, dinner by the bite, a silent auction that opens at 7 pm, followed by the Heart of Gold Award presentation at 9 pm, and a live auction beginning at 9:30.

Jennifer Roy of Danbury, event chairwoman, along with honorary committee member Isabelle Farrington and a dedicated group of “Lords and Ladies” are working diligently to create an evening of food, fun and dreams come true that is certain to be a “knight” to remember for all who attend.

Trisha and Eric Bam of the Foster Davis Foundation will be presented with the 2009 Heart of Gold Award in recognition of their overwhelming generosity, which is paving the way for a new, state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Introduced in 2003, the Heart of Gold Award pays tribute to individuals whose tireless efforts make a difference in the lives of children.

Past Heart of Gold recipients include Newtowner Humberto Bauta, MD.

A Day to Make a Difference guests will have the opportunity to bid on auction items that include theme gift baskets created by Danbury Hospital employees, and much more.

Tickets for the pediatric auction begin at $100 per person. Patron, sponsor, benefactor, and other sponsorship opportunities also are also available.

For more information, visit danburyhospital.org/devfund. For ticket information and reservations, call the Danbury Hospital Development Fund at 739-7227.

Space is limited; replies are requested by September 28 to reserve tickets and secure sponsorship opportunities.
