To the Editor:Ms Brody is a poet and former resident of Newtown.

I have come across the following report on social media. If true, then every newspaper and news medium should be headlining it.

Allegedly [President Donald] Trump has issued an executive order (or is proposing one) that will require every immigrant on a visa, every immigrant holding a green card, and every naturalized citizen to provide Homeland Security their e-mail addresses, social media passwords, and any other passwords they have for the internet.

Citizens of our Republic, wake up! This will be an unprecedented assault on our individual privacy and security, no matter where we stand politically.

A naturalized citizen is as fully a US citizen as anyone native born.

Who next will be put under the scrutiny of flawed administration departments? Perhaps those among us whose grandparents were born abroad? Perhaps those among us whose eyes are not blue? Perhaps those who resist or criticize the Party line?
