To the Editor:

I would like to recommend and endorse my wife, Maureen Crick Owen, for selectman.

Maureen has deep roots in Newtown going back over 11 generations. She has been active in community affairs for over 20 years, supporting the Newtown Village Cemetery (president), Newtown Parks & Recreation (board member), Board of Assessment Appeals (elected), Community Center Advisory Group (member), Borough Zoning Commission (clerk) and Board of Zoning Appeals (clerk).

She was born and raised in Newtown and attended public schools here. She has been the office administrator of the Newtown Ambulance Association for the past two years.

Maureen is diligent, hardworking, and conscientious. She has the highest level of integrity and great attention to detail.

If elected, I think Maureen will be an effective, dedicated, and motivated servant to the town and its residents. Given the macroeconomic and fiscal challenges facing Newtown and Connecticut, I believe Maureen and her running mate, Dan Rosenthal, are the most qualified to help lead the town forward.

I encourage you to vote for Maureen this November 7.

Respectfully submitted,

Cramer Owen
