To the Editor:

Prior to the evening of October 4, my impression of Dan Rosenthal was that of an affable guy about town who I would occasionally see at various social events. Though Mr Rosenthal was a board member during my stint on the Newtown Recovery and Resiliency Team, our paths did not cross during that time.

I'm grateful to have been invited and to have attended a friend's get-to-know-the-candidate gathering on the evening of the 4th, which served to introduce Dan to those of us unfamiliar with his mission or who were on the fence with our votes.

I have since come to recognize Mr Rosenthal as an open-minded, introspective, and considerate person. Couple this with his goals for Newtown which are refreshingly visionary and which indicate a keen understanding of the meaning of community, and you have an worthy candidate for first selectman.

I'm happy to endorse Dan Rosenthal for our town.
