Itâs time to elect a new representative in the 112th district. For the last six years, I have supported DebraLee Hovey, even to the point of donating money to her campaigns â but no more. This woman, who once held great promise, has lost touch with the community and now appears to represent special interest groups more than the constituency that elected her. What a disappointment!
This politician who once promised to never support unfunded mandates has reversed herself and broken her promise by supporting âin schoolâ suspensions. This action will permanently increase our school costs with no offsetting state aid.
She has introduced legislation that usurps a parentâs control over their childâs health care and mandates a health regimen dictated by the state legislature. No thanks! Iâll get my health care advice from a physician; not from the state legislature.
Yes, itâs time for change; time to hold DebraLee Hovey accountable for her actions, remove her from elected office and replace her with someone more in touch with the community. Fortunately, in the upcoming election we have a talented challenger vying for this legislative seat. Michele Mount is a bright and eager attorney with a solid grasp of the issues affecting our communities, experience as a legislative advocate, and she is someone who will represent the residents of Monroe and Newtown well. Michele Mount is the person to vote for as our next state representative in the 112th district.
