Newtown’s free 2023 Health Fair isn’t just an opportunity to fill complimentary shopping bags full of freebies from its dozens of vendors and exhibitors.

This year’s health fair — planned for Saturday, October 28, 9 am to noon in the cafetorium of Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trade Lane — is also a “one-must-stop” for local residents and families to learn about the wealth of healthy lifestyle and medical professionals ready to provide important services, according to co-organizer and Newtown Health District Director Donna Culbert.

Newtown’s 28th Health Fair is being supported and presented by a team that includes Culbert and her staff, health district consultant Joan Santucci, LPN, Dr Della Schmid, Dr Joseph Young, Newtown School District Health & Wellness Coordinator Anne Dalton RN, Newtown Director of Human Services Natalie Jackson, and Newtown Community Center Director Matt Ariniello, who are all very excited about the opportunities this event is providing to residents and visitors.

“Reed Intermediate School, right across from the Fairfield Hills campus is a terrific venue,” Culbert said. “All our vendors will be focused on the health and wellness of our community.”

The health fair will feature free health screenings, free information and advice, and a lot of free give-a-ways, Culbert noted.

“It’s an all-free three hour event; residents can drop by for a quick visit or stay for as long as they like,” Schmid added. “At the Fair, residents can experience interactive demonstrations and wellness treatments. There will be numerous free drawings, gift certificates to many restaurants and eateries, and promotions from many of our local businesses.”

Through the Vaccines for Children program, RVNAhealth will be providing free flu shots for kids 18 and under from 9-11 am.

And CVSHealth will be providing flu shots for adults from 9 to 12; be sure to bring your insurance card.
