To the Editor:

On behalf of the Newtown Police Union, we would like to thank the community for its support throughout the years. As local elections are nearing, the Police Union would like the community’s continued support in voting Yes for a new police facility.

The current police department is not only outdated, but it is also inefficient due to it being grossly undersized. This impacts employee and public parking, insufficient storage, inadequate space for conducting investigations, and resorting to using the same areas for more than one purpose.

As the Newtown Police Department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a new, larger police department is imperative to provide all of its employees, as well as the public, with adequate amenities to be more efficient and help serve the community to a higher level of professionalism.

Thank you for your anticipated support.

Newtown Police Union Executive Board,

Leonard Penna, President

Liam Seabrook, Vice President

Jason Frank, Treasurer

Adam James, Secretary
