One year ago, longtime friends Patrick Kearney and Mary Edelman Wilson opened Queen Street Gifts and Treats in their hometown.

To celebrate their first anniversary in business, Mr Kearney and Ms Wilson will be hosting a Meet The Artists Day at their store, 3 Queen Street in Newtown.

With much excitement, they will welcome:

*Newtown resident and artist Jim Chillington, the painter who has been working all around town in recent months, creating the paintings that depict the beauty and the love of this town, will be at the store from noon to 2 pm. Signed prints will be available for purchase.

*Town Historian Dan Cruson, who will be signing copies of his book, Legendary Locals of Newtown. Copies are available at Queen Street Gifts, and guests are also welcome to bring theirs in, for autographs between 2 and 5 pm; and

*Lauren Frazier, Sandy Hook resident and a “talented and fresh jewelry designer,” say the partners, whose work is being featured at Queen  Street.

Ms Wilson and Mr Kearney will also be unveiling a new product celebrating their love for Newtown and the future on November 9. The artist behind the new effort will also be available.

Light refreshments will be served, and the celebration will run from 10 am until 5 pm.

For additional information call 203-304-9755 or find and like Queen Street Gifts & Treats on Facebook.

Mary Wilson and Patrick Kearney, the co-owners of Queen Street Gifts & Treats, will be the guest speakers for the next Working Women's Forum.
