Concert Chorus To Perform ‘Night Crossing’

DANBURY — Danbury Concert Chorus will perform a concert entitled “Night Crossing” on Saturday, November 15, at 8 pm. The performance will be at St James Episcopal Church, 25 West Street.

Admission is free.

The 100-voice chorus is under the direction of Richard Price, who has been music director and conductor of the Danbury Concert Chorus since 2002. Mr Price, a resident of Candlewood Isle in New Fairfield, is president and senior producer of Candlewood Digital, a Connecticut-based company of classical recording specialists. His work was nominated for two Grammy awards in 2006.

Danbury Concert Chorus will be accompanied by Maxim Vladimiroff, pianist, and will feature Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek, soprano, from the popular singing group Anonymous 4, singing Schubert songs and American folk tunes.

Also featured will be fiddler Larry Deming, and members of Hoe, a bluegrass band, joining the chorus in early patriotic songs and shape-note hymns. In addition, two major works on the program are Gwyneth Walker’s haunting choral work, An Hour to Dance, and Schubert’s Mariam’s Song of Triumph.
