To the Editor:

Thanks to our law enforcement professionals with the Newtown police department, our town is consistently ranked as one of the safest towns to live in Connecticut. Because of their professional and diligent service, they play a major role in preserving the value of our homes and businesses, which also translates into savings for our property insurance costs.

Our officers serve and protect our town every day, around the clock — on nights, weekends, and holidays. Their commitment to protecting all of Newtown and our families allows us to live our busy daily lives in our community with a high degree of confidence, knowing that our police officers are carrying out their duties every day. The employees of the Newtown Police Department are present at our community events and in our schools and businesses. Their constant professionalism has always been a great asset to our town.

We need to support the dedicated men and woman of our police department by voting Yes on Tuesday, November 6, in favor of funding a new and long overdue public safety facility.
