The Flagpole Radio Café will continues its sixth season with a performance this weekend by the innovative jazz guitarist Michael Coppola.

While Saturday’s performance will begin at 7 pm, Mr Coppola and luthier James DeCava will hold a guitar workshop in Edmond Town Hall’s Alexandria Room at 6 pm.

Mr DeCava will have some of his exquisitely crafted instruments on display. Mr Coppola will demonstrate his technique for playing his nine string guitar (affectionately called “The Hydra”). Guitarists of all ages and abilities are invited to join the fun. The workshop is included in the price of Flagpole Radio Café tickets.

Flagpole Radio Café was created by Jim Allyn, Martin Blanco and Barbara Gaines in conjunction with Newtown Cultural Arts Commission. Each performance features music by Jim Allyn and The Flagpole Radio Café Orchestra (Rob Bonaccorso, Rick Brodsky, Howie Bujese, Dick Neil and Francine Wheeler), radio style comedy sketches by the Flagpole Shakespeare Repertory Theatre (Mr Blanco and Ms Gaines, with fellow performers Kate Katcher, and David Wheeler), and appearances by guests artists of accomplishment if not renown.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 students and senior citizens, and can be purchased at www.flagpoleproductions.org.

For additional information call 203-364-0898 or send email to info@flagpoleproductions.org.

Flagpole Radio Café launched its new season last month with a return engagement by harpist Deborah Henson-Conant. Performance dates for 2013-14 are also planned for December 7, February 8, March 22, and May 17.
