Hurdy-Gurdy Band To Perform At WestConn

DANBURY — The Hurdy-Gurdy Band will perform “The Adventures of Claude Duval,” billed as “an outrageous 1730s London and Paris tragi-comical shadow-figure ballad opera,” on Friday, November 18, at 8 pm, at Western CT State University’s Alumni Hall (on the university’s midtown campus).

Featuring the Heller family — Donald, Anicet, Julian and Gaspar — the play’s music is performed upon hurdy-gurdies, violin and harpsichord. It includes humor, intrigue, drama and shadow puppets, and is appropriate and fascinating for all ages, but is not a children’s show per se.

Suggested donation is $10.
