Friends of Newtown Seniors will sponsor a special performance of The Trip To Bountiful this weekend.

Take one aging woman who seeks to escapes her unhappy present by going back to her past to make some new friends and in the process makes some unexpected discoveries, and you have a recipe for an entertaining production, right here in Newtown.

Newtown Bee Theater Reviewer Elizabeth Young calls the show, currently in production by Town Players of Newtown, "a trip worth taking." The entire cast, she said in her review, "elevated ... Each member delivers a performance of heartbreaking truth."

Friends of Newtown Seniors will host a performance on Saturday, November 18. Light refreshments will be served at 1 pm, and the performance will start at 2.

The performance will be at The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road.

Tickets are $35, with proceeds to benefit FONS, a group whose mission is to provide advocacy, services, and information to Newtown's senior citizens.
