Tag-A-Gift To Brighten Christmas

For Newtown’s Children

Every holiday season, the Newtown Junior Women’s Club sponsors Tag-a-Gift, one of the club’s three big community service projects. Working in conjunction with social services, this program fulfills holiday wishes for Newtown children. The club organizes, collects, and wraps the gifts generously donated by members of the community.

Each tag contains the gender, age, and gift wish of a child, while keeping all other information anonymous. The tags will be placed in five locations around town on Monday, November 26, and all unwrapped gifts should be returned to the same location no later than Monday, December 10.

Tags can be found at Wesley Learning Center, 92 Church Hill Road; Union Savings Bank, 1 Commerce Road; Newtown Savings Bank in Sand Hill Plaza (228 Main Street South) and its main branch at 39 Main Street; Good Ideas: a Parent Teacher Store, 274 South Main Street (Plaza South).

In addition, a box will be set up in the lobby of Edmond Town Hall on Sunday, December 2, the day of the Holiday Festival, for the donation of unwrapped gifts.

The ornaments bearing the tags were made by local children and are yours to keep as a thank you for helping to make the holiday season bright.

For additional information call 203-733-7977 or 203-482-4943.
