Holiday Twilight Tours At Osborne Homestead Museum

DERBY — To experience the beautiful flow of holiday lights and decorations, the public is invited to visit Osborne Homestead Museum during the museum’s popular Twilight Tours.

On Fridays, December 3, 10 and 17, the museum will be open for self-guided tours from 4 to 6:30 pm.

This season, the Osborne Homestead Museum will feature the sights and sounds of holiday music. Each room in the museum will reflect a special holiday song.

During the Twilight Tours, the adjacent Kellogg Environmental Center will also be open, displaying a very special exhibit, “Art from Connecticut Forests.” The exhibit features more than 40 Connecticut artists who made works of art from one single white oak tree.

In addition to the Twilight Tours, the museum will be open for guided tours through December 19. Tours will be available Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Group tours for adults, schools and youth programs will be available throughout the week; call for an appointment at 734-2513.

Osborne Homestead Museum, which exhibits the fine art and antiques of Frances Osborne Kellogg, provides a wonderful backdrop to this traditional holiday decorating. There is no admission cost; donations are gratefully accepted. The museum is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue in Derby. Signs are posted from Route 34.
