‘I Am Beautiful’ Workshop At BPW

The Business and Professional Women of Newtown will present “I am Beautiful — a Self- Esteem Workshop” at the Monday, December 6 meeting. The meeting is open to the public as well as BPW members.

 Suzie Galler, who produced and directed the documentary “I Am Beautiful,” will be speaking of her inspiration for the film. The film is an exploration and celebration of a woman’s self-esteem journey. The film will be played during the evening. Ms Galler will also be conducting an esteem-building workshop.

Founder of the Esteemed Woman Foundation and president of Muse Entertainment, Ms Galler has more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She has produced, written, and directed award winning full-length programs for CBS/Fox, Lifetime Television, and NBC.

 Ms Galler has devoted the last five years of her career to creating the Esteemed Woman Project. The foundation is a nonprofit outreach organization created to provide women and girls across the county with the tools they need to explore and improve their self-image. The presentation will provide an opportunity for those who attend to focus on themselves during this hectic time of year.

 A special guest, Newtown resident Mary Mitchell, will also join the BPW meeting. Ms Mitchell has just published the book The Remarkable Huntingtons, which she wrote with the late Al Goodrich. Ms Mitchell has spent more than 35 years writing and publishing books, and is an inspiration for women.

The meeting will be held on Monday, December 6, at Ethan Allen Inn, 21 Lake Avenue —I-84 Exit 4 — Danbury. Networking begins at 6 pm, the buffet dinner will be at 6:30. Reservations are requested by Friday, December 3, by calling Kelly Urso at 364-1667. The cost for the dinner and program will be $25.

The Newtown Business and Professional Women’s Club is a nonprofit organization that promotes the interests of business and professional women, providing them with an opportunity for networking.
