In response to the snowstorm that has reached the area, businesses and organizations have begun announcing program cancellations and/or early closing plans.

Ben's Bells Newtown studio, which had planned to remain open until 3 today, has closed up earlier than originally planned. The studio will also be closed on Saturday. It will reopen for regular hours on Wednesday, December 3.

Club NewFit has announced it will close by 2 pm today. 

C.H. Booth Library will be closing at 12:30 today.

The town annonuced last night that all town offices will be closing today at 12:30.

Newtown schools, which were to have an early dismissal today due to Thanksgiving, have instead been closed all day.
