Local Students Included In ‘Who’s Who’

Over 30 students from Newtown are included in the 34th Annual Edition of Who’s Who Among American High School Students 1999-2000.

The following students were selected: Lauren Adamek, Anthony T. Bombaci, Melissa Bonacci, Daniel Brennan, Beth Casson, Kristen Coates, Ellen E. Croswell, Amanda Cruz, Christopher David, Christine Deweese, Lisa Dicostanzo, Paul Dolzall, Katharine Hayes, Ryan Ignatius, Kevin Johnstone, Benjamin Jura, Courtney E. Knees, Taneya C. Lamb, Jessie McGlasson, Hanna Niklewicz, Todd A. Palo, Alden Palmer, II, Alison Peterman, Kelli M. Peterman, Ashlyn Rayzor, Brittany Rayzor, Kest Schwartzman, Jessica Singer, Amy B. Treadwell, Jen Vanepps, and Rebecca A. Walls.

Who’s Who is the largest recognition program and publication in the nation honoring high achieving high school students. Students are nominated by high school principals and guidance counselors, national youth groups, churches, and educational organizations based on students’ academic achievements and involvement in extracurricular activities.

The 34th edition features over 750,000 students or five percent of the nation’s 14 million high school students. They represent approximately 20,000 of the 24,000 public, private, and parochial high schools in the country. Who’s Who students also compete for $200,000 in scholarship awards.
