Donald T. Niedermeier, 88, of Cheshire, formerly of Milford and Fairfield, died November 27, with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 61 years to Sandra (Knablin) Niedermeier. He was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Agnes (Quinn) and Joseph  Niedermeier.

He was the beloved father of four wonderful daughters, Shari Thornberg and husband Chris of Newtown, Holly Fischer and husband Karl of Stratford, Jill Fitzpatrick and husband Ray of Carmel, Ind., and Cindy Niedermeier Wallace of Bridgeport. He is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Welch of Shelton, and Carol O'Brien and her husband Fred of Calif.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

His brother, Joseph, predeceased him.

Mr Niedermeier graduated from Fairfield Prep and the University of Connecticut in dairy manufacturing. He served in the US Army Reserves for eight years.

He was plant manager for many years for the former Beechmont Dairy in Bridgeport. Mr Niedermeier was a parishioner of St Gabriel Church in Milford for more than 30 years. He had a wonderful personality and much wit about him. He was always humble and devoted to his church, wife, family, and friends.

Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, on Thursday, November 30, from 3 to 6 pm. All other services will be private.
