Edward M. McCarthy, 49, of Milford, beloved husband of 21 years and best friend to Mary Rodrigues McCarthy, died November 24 in Hartford Hospital. The son of Evelyn Cosgrove Hudak of Stratford and the late Charles Edward McCarthy, he was born in Bridgeport on September 28, 1958.

In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include two sisters, Carol Bartek of Newtown and Evelyn Tomas of Northport, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Mr McCarthy worked for Avco Textron-Lycoming for 18 years and most recently as a driver at Connecticut Plywood. He will best be remembered as the talented, all-around handyman, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Funeral services were from the Cody-White Funeral Home, Milford November 29, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Agnes Church, Milford. Interment was in St Mary Cemetery, Milford.
