Probation Violation

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Dimitriy Frolov, 32, of Danbury, went to the police station about 7 am on December 20 and was charged with violation of probation, police said.

After processing the case, police released Frolov on $10,000 bail for a January 5 court appearance. Details on the case were not immediately available from police.

Intersection Collision

Police report a two-vehicle collision at the four-way intersection of South Main Street, Meadowbrook Road, and Botsford Hill Road, which is controlled by a traffic signal, at about 9:13 am on December 18.

Motorist Lee Morrow, 55, of Seymour was driving a 2013 Ford Taurus sedan southward on South Main Street and was traveling straight through the junction on a green traffic signal.

At that time, motorist Sally Feuerberg, 63, of Newtown, was driving a 2012 Subaru Outback SUV eastward on Meadowbrook Road and was attempting to cross South Main Street to drive straight through the junction and enter Botsford Hill Road.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Feuerberg for failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Swamp Road

Police said that motorist Gideon Kyeremeh, 28, of Bronx, N.Y., was driving a 2002 Ford Focus northward on Swamp Road about 9:40 pm on December 15 and was negotiating a left curve in the roadway, when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right road shoulder, landing in a ditch.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Kyeremeh for traveling too fast for conditions.

Nunnawauk Rollover

Police report a one-vehicle accident on a snow-covered Nunnawauk Road about 9:07 am on December 14.

Motorist Alexander Chau, 16, of Newtown, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck eastward near 18 Nunnawauk Road, when while negotiating a curve in the road, he lost control of the vehicle and it struck a stone wall and a mailbox and then rolled onto its left side. There were no injuries.

Police said they issued Chau an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

Subaru Off Road

About 3:44 am on December 13, motorist Benjamin Herrera, 23 of Waterbury, was driving a 2002 Subaru Legacy sedan on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 10, when he lost control of the auto and went off the right road shoulder, striking some flex-beam guardrailing and a concrete barrier. Herrera was possibly injured, according to state police.

Herrera received an infraction for failure to maintain the travel lane and for driving without a license.

Hawleyville Accident

About 8:05 am on December 13, motorist David Dubuc, 29, of Redding, was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla sedan northward on Hawleyville Road, about 100 yards north of its intersection with Barnabas Road.

At that time, motorist Leandro Paulo Matias-Dos Santos, 44, of Danbury, who was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was hauling a trailer, entered the roadway from a private driveway along the right road shoulder and intended to head southward, police said.

The trailer and the Toyota then collided. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Matias-Dos Santos for failure to grant the right of way.

Honda Pilot

While traveling on westbound Interstate 84 near the Schoolhouse Hill Road overpass at about 1:27 pm on December 13, a 2007 Honda Pilot SUV driven by Paolamantina Grullon-Livingst, 30, of Litchfield, was struck by a piece of ice that had fallen from an unknown vehicle, state police report. There were no injuries.

Intersection

A two-vehicle accident occurred at the four-way intersection of Hattertown Road, Key Rock Road, and Poverty Hollow Road about 1:55 pm on December 13.

The accident involved motorist Josephine Pipitone, 88, of Danbury, who was driving a 2010 Subaru Impreza, and motorist Nancy Meier, 45, of Newtown, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban SUV, police said. There were no injuries.

Pipitone received a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.

Rush Hour

Amid heavy slow-moving traffic on westbound Interstate 84, near Rochambeau Bridge, at about 7:52 am on December 12, motorist Gregory Cherubin, 44, of Bristol, who was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry sedan, slowed and was then struck from behind by motorist Esperanza Acevedo. 55, of Waterbury, who was driving a 2005 Hyundai Accent, state police said.

There were no injuries. Cherubin received an infraction for following too closely.

Hyundai Hits Jeep

In slow, heavy traffic on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, at about 5:30 pm on December 12, a 2006 Hyundai Sonata sedan driven by Pio Petnino, 40, of Watertown, struck the rear end of a 2010 Jeep Wrangler SUV driven by William Twombly, 56, of Danbury, state police said.

Those involved in the accident refused medical attention at the scene. Petnino received an infraction for following too closely.

Vehicle Smashes Fence

Police are investigating a collision that occurred in Hattertown on December 12 or December 13 at 214 Hattertown Road.

Police said an unknown driver was traveling southward on Hattertown Road, when he or she drove off the right road shoulder and struck some fencing, knocking two fence sections to the ground. The offending motorist also struck a speed limit sign before driving away from the scene without reporting the damage.

Sedan Vs Pole

Police said motorist Dion Bernier, 25, of Osprey, Fla., was driving a 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-240-M sedan eastward near 41 Swamp Road about 10:54 am on December 9, during snowy conditions, when he attempted to follow a left curve in the roadway, but instead traveled off the right road shoulder and struck a utility pole.

Bernier and a passenger both declined medical attention at the accident scene. Police verbally warned Bernier for traveling too fast for conditions.

Snowy Conditions

Police report a two-SUV accident on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Bennetts Bridge Road, amid snowy conditions at about 10:56 am on December 9.

Westbound motorist Alma Mesanovic, 56, of New Milford, who was driving a 2016 Honda HR-V, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by westbound motorist Michael Santora, 32, of Sandy Hook, who was driving a 2013 Ford Escape. There were no injuries.

Police verbally warned Santora for following too closely.

Boulevard Crash

Police report a two-vehicle collision amid snowy conditions at about 11:49 am on December 9 on The Boulevard, near Hall Lane, where the road has sharp double curves at a bridge which crosses above railroad tracks.

Motorist Chance McMahon, 19, of Sandy Hook, was driving a 2009 Honda Accord southward on The Boulevard, as motorist Alexander Reznikoff, 59, of Newtown, was driving a 2003 Subaru Legacy sedan northward. The Honda attempted to negotiate a curve in the road at the bridge, but skidded and struck the Subaru, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned McMahon for failure to keep to the right on a curve.

Berkshire Collision

About 1:42 pm on December 9, amid snowy conditions, motorist Cole Desrochers, 18, of Sandy Hook was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta sedan eastward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Liberty Drive, when he slowed for traffic conditions, resulting in eastbound motorist John Russo, 52, of Hamden, who was driving a 2012 Buick LaCrosse sedan, striking the rear end of the Volkswagen, police report.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Russo for following too closely.
