All town offices and agencies will be closed from noon on Tuesday, December 31, and remain closed until Thursday, January 2, for New Year’s.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will be closing at 11 am on Tuesday, December 31. It will be closed on Wednesday, January 1.

C.H. Booth Library will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, for New Year’s Day.

Newtown Senior Center will close at noon on December 31 (no lunch served), be closed all day January 1, and will reopen on Thursday at 9.

Public schools will remain closed until January 1. Classes resume January 2.

The offices of The Bee, at 5 Church Hill Road, will be open on Tuesday, December 31. Press releases for the Business, Education, Enjoy and Health pages must arrive by 5 pm Monday, December 30.  Letters to the Editor must be received by 3 pm Tuesday to be included in the January 3 issue of The Newtown Bee. All other editorial deadlines remain unchanged.
