Hospital Offers Weight Training

WATERBURY — Waterbury Hospital would like to help you shape up and fight osteoporosis at the same time with “Tone Muscles and Fight Osteoporosis with Weight Training.” This ten-week course is open to men and women of all ages and will be offered from 7:45 to 8:45 on Mondays, January 8  through March 12, in the Bizzozero Conference Room, fourth floor at the hospital.

Participants should bring a set of light (2 to 5 pound) weights. The cost of the ten-week series is $25. Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required. Call 573-7385.

Research indicates that weight-bearing exercise, even light weights two or three times a week, is an essential part of staying fit and healthy. Not only does it tone muscles but it also helps fend off osteoporosis. It is an inexpensive and easy way to improve one’s health.
